So simple

Storing Diapers

We like storing wet and dirty diapers in a dry pail with a waterproof liner. Older babies’ solid waste can be removed by gently shaking the diaper over a toilet. You can also use flushable liners for easier clean-up or a diaper sprayer for stuck-on messes. For Chi-Baba pocket diapers, remove the inserts before tossing the diapers into your pail so it is all ready to go into the wash.

Every 2-3 days

Washing

Start with a rinse cycle with cold water and no detergent. Then wash with hot water and about 1/6 of the amount of detergent for your watching machine. We use 2 tablespoons in our top loader.

With a front loading washer you may have to run an extra rinse cycle to remove all the detergent from the diapers.

Hang dry or machine dry on low heat!

Step One
Rinse/Cold Cycle

Rinse / Cold Cycle

Place all your dirty diapers into the washer and run a 6-8 minute rinse cycle on cold with 2-3 tablespoons of detergent. This first cycle will help remove most of the urin and help breakdown any solids that may remain.

Step Two
Clean/Hot Cycle

Clean / Hot Cycle

Now run a full wash on hot. We use permeant press setting on our washer but see which one works best for yours. Turn your machine onto hot and add 2-3 tablespoons of detergent.

Step Three
Dry Cycle

Dry Cycle

Place your now clean diapers into your dryer on your favourite setting and let them dry. You can also hang dry them if you have time or hang dry them in the sun and let the sun do its magic! Your diapers are all ready to use again.
